NC Programmer
Plan, organize and formulate efficient operational programs for numerical control machines through the application of established or pre-determined manufacturing engineering methods to provide optimum utilization of machine capabilities and tooling arrangements.
Design, develop, and modify CNC computer programs to achieve maximum cost and manufacturing efficiency.
Determine methods, tooling, feeds, speeds and all other necessary requirements necessary for efficient manufacturing of parts.
Contribute to the cost reduction program by actively seeking and reporting opportunities for reduced costs.
Identify and resolve any logical program errors.
Complete and maintain program documentation and file system
Be responsive to the short term needs of the shop to keep CNC machines running at full capacity / efficiency.
Perform other work related task as required as assigned.
Technical AS degree or NC programming certificate and equivalent knowledge.
Skills
PC Skills MS Word and Excel
Have good organization skills
Interpret and manipulate spread sheets
Have a NC programming certificate or equivalent knowledge.
Be able to interpret Part Drawings.
Have basic Inventor /CADD knowledge to manipulate flat patterns for programming.
Be able to load Bills and routings in AMAPS
Understand the Build and Design principles for Schneider Electric
Have Good communication and problem solving skills
Know sheet metal punching and forming process
Act as a liaison between fabrication and design engineering.
Give design process feed back to advance manufacturing regarding new designs
Maintain network files/ structure pertaining to NC programs.
Maintain and perform clerical task such as Application Notes, Tempo and AMAPS error logs
Be able to work different shifts/ schedules as work demands required.
