POSITION: HR Specialist - INTERNAL POSTING
DEPARTMENT: HRM
HOURS: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Friday 8:00 am - 1:30 pm
LOCATION: Airport Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The temporary employment specialist coordinates the temporary employment process for 1200
employees. Responsibilities include counseling managers, departmental assistants and others on the temporary process to ensure a cohesive in-processing experience. Audits temporary employment agreements to determine appropriate classifications, earnings codes and other payment information. Works closely with Payroll to ensure proper payment of temporary employees and to resolve pay issues. Maintains pay scales for adjunct positions and coordinates with the Budgets Department to set up new temporary positions. Updates, maintains and processes new hire packets. Develops and delivers in-house training for departmental assistants. Serves as project manager for items related to temporary employment. Will serve as technical liaison for the soon to be implemented software program for processing temporary agreements. Coordinates the secondary state employment process and ensures compliance with state guidelines including earnings limitations. Facilitates the completion of retirement enrollment paperwork for eligible employees and will be actively involved in establishing and maintaining a tracking system for the Affordable Care Act. Will perform other related duties as necessary.
MINIMUM
Qualifications: Bachelor-s degree or an associate degree plus two (2) years of work experience; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of work experience.
PREFERRED
Qualifications: Preferred requirements include temporary employment coordination (preferably State of SC Government experience), a working knowledge of the Affordable Care Act and related tracking systems, and proficiency in Datatel and Excel. An understanding of FLSA and temporary employee compensation is essential. Technical astuteness, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively respond to swiftly changing priorities is necessary to be successful in this position. A demonstrated abiliity to coordinate a project from start to completion is highly desirable.
HIRING RANGE: $25,627 - $37,250, Band 04, SC State Classification System. Excellent benefits program that includes: employer provided health, dental, and life insurance; paid holidays; sick and annual leave; and state retirement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
