POSITION: Law Enforcement Officer I (Campus Police Officer)
DEPARTMENT: Operations
HOUR: Evening Shift Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Airport Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Patrol the campus to protect life property, and prevent unlawful conduct. Enforcement of parking rules/regulations; Observe road and parking lot hazards; assist motorist; Direct traffic and reserve parking for special events and meetings on campus. Coordinate with private contract security; Assist in locking and unlocking of buildings, classrooms, labs, automobiles; Assist with fire prevention and other safety hazards; locate students in emergencies. Investigate missing/stolen property, disturbances, and complaints; Seek out potential criminals and criminal activities on campus and submit finding in written report to supervisor. Must assist and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies and other officers. Maintain and develop a constructive public image through positive duties as required by supervisor.
MINIMUM
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma, and two (2) years work experience in law enforcement. Must have certification by the SC Department of Public Safety in accordance with 23-6-430 of the Code of South Carolina 1976. Must posses a valid South Carolina driver-s license and working knowledge of SC laws, and regulations, Must have the ability to investigate incidents, write reports, coordinate with law enforcement agencies, deal with students, faculty/staff, and visitors. Must be able to maintain certifications with the SC Police Academy by obtaining forty (40) credits hours every three years.
HIRING RANGE: $26,139 - $37,250, Band 04, SC State Classification System. Excellent benefits program that includes: employer provided health, dental, and life insurance; paid holidays; sick and annual leave; and state retirement.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
