POSITION: INTERNAL ONLY - Fiscal Technician I
DEPARTMENT: Finance & Accounting
HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm; Friday-8:00 am-1:30 pm
LOCATION: Airport Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Acts as the Head Cashier of the Airport Campus Cashiers Office. Monitors, reviews, and plans workflow of office and maintains schedule of contract employees. Supervises the posting and cash receipting of information into the Colleague Datatel System. Responsible for the preparation of daily deposits to include maintaining deposit logbook and preparation of all paperwork necessary that is utilized by Cashier Supervisor and bank reconciliation staff. Acts as back up support for the multi campus Cashier Manager as needed. Processes in house tuition payment plan agreements and termination of agreements. Processes and applies in house tuition payment plan to student accounts. Works with Accounts Receivable representative on account update, payment or problem resolutions. Maintains a petty cash fund within the established limits specified by college policy. Monitors expenditures for disbursement of petty cash to college employees verifying accuracy, legality, and proper signature authority. Serves as customer service representative for the Airport Cashiers Office. Analyzes and interprets student account information. Responsible for processing of financial information dealing with Live Work projects done on the Airport Campus and the retrieval of monies from the campus library copiers and the pay for print areas. Responsible for security and inventory of Finance and Accounting Department key box to include issuing and ensuring safe return of keys issued upon request. May need to travel overnight and to other campuses and evening work may be required.
MINIMUM
Qualifications: Associate Degree with accounting related courses; or High School Diploma and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and terminology of accounting, auditing, banking and financial management. Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff members and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to work independently under general supervision. Must be organized, dependable, and a self-starter. Great customer service skills.
PREFERRED
Qualifications: Supervisory experience.
HIRING RANGE: $21,484 - $30,619, Band 03, SC State Classification System. Excellent benefits program that includes: employer provided health, dental, and life insurance; paid holidays; sick and annual leave; and state retirement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
