Supervises assigned staff according to agency policy. In conjunction with the CYSHCN Director and Nurse Consultant, ensures staff development including discipline and programmatic orientation and on-boarding, required in-service education, practice and program continuing education and training to strengthen staff competencies. Participates in and evaluates the recruitment, selection, and retention processes to maintain appropriate CYSHCN staffing across the region.
Plans, organizes, and evaluates Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) statewide services to ensure the provision of high quality, adequate and appropriate care and service delivery to reflect the goal of improving the health of the population.
Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication internally and externally. Communicates effectively and timely with all team members and community partners. Collaborates with and engages the interdisciplinary team and community partners to support the mission of public health.
Collaborates with the CYSHCN Nurse Consultant for the development and revision of CYSHCN plans, procedures, policies and standing orders. Participates in CQI activities, including clinical observations and process/outcome audits. Supports the CYSHCN team and CYSHCN Nurse Consultant in nursing activities related to Camp Burnt Gin.
Assists with Medical Needs Shelter (MNS) operations, maintains supportive nursing practice competencies to include, but not limited to, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal best practice injection administration, oral medication administration, and client emergency response including First Aid, CPR and AED, and be willing and available to assist during times of public health emergency and outbreak response efforts. Subject to 24-hour call. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: Licensure as a registered nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements: Five (5) years' experience as a Registered Nurse; three (3) years of which must have been in public health nursing and three (3) years which must have been in consultation, supervision, or administration. Requires a valid driver's license. Requires certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control's Injury and Children with Special Health Care Needs Division/Bureau of Maternal and Child Health. The work performed supports DHEC's mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment. Effective July 1, 2024, this position will transfer to the South Carolina Department of Public Health created by Senate Bill 399 which provides for the creation of the Department of Public Health to assume the public health-related functions of DHEC.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
