Job Responsibilities Operates Motor Vehicles and transports inmates outside of institution.
Maintains security, custody control of inmate's behavior during transport using mechanical restraints/firearm device based on inmates custody, purpose& destination of inmate.
Performs daily vehicle maintenance and vehicle inspections and submits written reports immediately to supervisor indicating needed corrective maintenance to ensure safety and operation of vehicle.
Operates State vehicle in accordance with all state laws and SCDC Policy and procedures.
Performs functions as a correctional officer as needed while in the institution between transportation run's.
Maintains required agency training for certification.
Maintains required records and other paperwork on Vehicles, I.
e.
Insurance Cards, vehicle registration and vehicle logs.
Reports vehicle accidents and emergencies.

Must be a U.

Citizen 18 years of age or older High school graduate or GED Must possess a valid driver's license Tattoos:
Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head.
Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more, or a fine of $1,000.
Must pass a physical examination administered by SCDC.
Must successfully complete the Correctional Officer Basic Certification Course within first (6) six months of placement into the position.
SCDC INTERNAL APPLICANTS:
Must also have completed Defensive Driving Training and cannot be on the No Drive List and or the No Draw List with SCDC.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
