Summary:
Supports the management and operations of development and alumni relations through annual gift fundraising, sponsorship development, alumni engagement programming, special event planning and volunteer management for the College of Nursing.
Responsible for building membership and directing related activities for the Colleges Deans Circle, coordinates annual giving initiatives with the UofSC Office of Annual Giving including the colleges participation in Giving for Garnet Giving Day and Family Fund.
Secures financial support for sponsorships to benefit special events.
Oversees the Colleges Alumni Council and subcommittees.
Creates and implements alumni engagement programming designed to strengthen relationships with alumni and donors.
Annual Gifts:
Serves as a prospect manager for potential donors with capacity under $25,000 with emphasis on current and future lead annual gifts for the college.
Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting a gift portfolio that benefits the program priorities of the College.
Uses Blackbaud CRM to coordinate and document all prospect and donor relationships as well as any relevant assignment, cultivation, or solicitation information or pending opportunities.
Solicits prospective donors, including individuals assigned and unassigned.
Number of solicitations are set and established by the DOD with consultation with the Assistant Director of Development that include individual solicitation goals.
All solicitations are documented within a Plan and Opportunity in Blackbaud CRM.
Creates promotional and fundraising strategy for developing the Colleges Deans Circle (Gifts of 1k or more) and oversees related events, activities and creation of promotional collateral.
Conducts a minimum number of prospective donor visits (10-15) monthly and solicits funds supporting the Deans Circle.
Identifies and secures support for sponsorships to benefit Nursing events and programs.
Annual Gifts:
Oversees annual fund appeals, giving day related initiatives, Family Fund, fall Tools for School Fundraisers, and other initiatives as assigned.
Provides ongoing referrals for potential major gift prospects to the Senior Director of Development.
Serves on committees and attends staff meetings as required.
Files timely contact reports, maintains accurate records, and provides updated information for electronic database ( CRM ) as appropriate.
Maintains confidentiality of donor information and exercises consistent professionalism in behavior and appearance.
Alumni Engagement:
Manages the College Alumni Council to include member recruitment, related events, meetings, and volunteer fundraising training.
Oversees and supports the Alumni Council Subcommittees:
Carolina Nurses @ Work, Outreach, and Mentoring.
Creates and implements alumni engagement programming and special events designed to strengthen relationships with alumni and donors.
Coordinate college promotion at industry conferences and events.
Works closely with graduate recruitment to assist in encouraging UofSC Nursings alumni to enroll in graduate nursing programs.
Collaborates with UofSC Nursings Communication team to provide content and contacts for alumni communications, to include:
CON Newsletter, Alumni newsletter, alumni spotlights for all social media, web, and publicity/promotion efforts.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelors degree and 4 years related experience in an area such as alumni development, fundraising, prospect research, or business development.
Occasional evenings and/or weekend work required.
This position requires day travel and/or overnight travel primarily in SC, NC and GA to include more distant travel on occasion.
Full/Part Time:
Full Time Recommended Skills Business Development Coaching And Mentoring Confidentiality Consulting Finance Fundraising Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
