Job Responsibilities Develop HVAC maintenance and repair program throughout the facility.
Supervises and complete HVAC maintenance, construction and renovation projects for assigned facility.
Establish on-call procedures to respond to emergency maintenance and repair calls and assures the work is promptly and properly performed.
Determine requirements for HVAC supplies and equipment.
Prepare justification for supplies and equipment and submits purchase requisitions.
Remain abreast of new HVAC/refrigeration techniques, procedures and equipment.
Recommends the procurement of and assists in supervising installation of new equipment.
Orientates new employee; Administer on-the-job training to assigned personnel and evaluates their performance.
Confers with supervisor and departmental maintenance personnel and makes recommendations pertaining to overall maintenance policies and operation procedures.
Resume preferred, but not required, license(s) and certification(s) must be submitted to be considered.
Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

High school diploma and experience in installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems.
Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
A high school diploma Five (5) years of experience in the general maintenance, installation and/or repair of heating/ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Must be EPA universal certified for refrigeration systems.
