The QA Technician-Rework Coordinator will perform the necessary routine procedures to monitor the quality of in-process and packaged products, as well as overseeing quality and food safety non-conformance issues.
The QA Technician-Rework Coordinator will also perform the required procedures related to non-compliance issues in these areas.
This position will interact with all plant personnel, temporary employees, and 3PL employees.
This role must have good oral and written skills to communicate effectively amongst internal and external functions and savvy with quality and operating systems.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine sampling and auditing for processing and packaging lines in SPC software.
Perform sensory evaluations and analytical testing of in-process and packaged finished products.
Oversee and manage quality and food safety hold logs.
Hold and release finished products, ingredients, and materials (pasta, additives, primary and secondary packaging.
Perform inspection, sampling, and testing of incoming ingredients (pasta additives) according to QA receiving procedure.
GMP, Food Safety, Glass and Brittle Material Audits Customer Complaint investigations Support Trace and Mock Recall Exercises Defective Material Reporting Customer Sample Requests Support plant warehouse inbound and outbound shipments Monthly Quality and Food Safety Non-Conformance Inventory Checks Monitor product or ingredient quality according to AIPC and/or customer specification.
Notify appropriate personnel and accurately document any deviation from quality standards or non-compliance issues.
Segregate and hold non-compliance finished products and ingredients according to procedure.
Responsible for ensuring product meets safe, legal and quality requirements.
Ensure compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Programs.
5S designated rework area (maintain organized, clean, and secure equipment) Operate Rework Equipment (Date Coders, Conveyors, workstations, printers) Oversee retention center with sensory evaluations, visual inspections, and documentation.
Assist Quality, Sanitation, and Operations in other areas or projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing facility (Food Processing, Packing or QA/Laboratory preferred).
Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Efficient in Warehouse Management Systems Basic math to determine percentages and calculate test results (use of calculator is essential).
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety issues.
Must be able to work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Computer literate.
Basic skills necessary for using e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to understand specifications and recognize product quality issues.
Ability to effectively communicate deviations from quality standards to appropriate personnel.
Competency in process auditing and inspection.
Accuracy and timeliness of work.
