PURPOSE OF POSITION
Ensure availability, timeliness and quality of resources (people and
equipment) in support of projects. Ensure all resources are properly
allocated and deployed across projects in support of business needs.
Optimize investment in equipment, maintenance and training facilities;
assure compliance with radiation, health and safety regulations. Ensure
availability of adequate resource pool to support projects, customer
needs, outage efforts etc.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance) Essential
Functions
o Implement standards contained in Westinghouse Codes of Business
Ethics & Conduct. Ensure that all employees reporting to this position
are informed about the standards and related policies, and enforce them
within this supervised activity.
1. Provide integrated resource plan for engineering / field service
personnel, equipment, and facilities within area of responsibility.
2. Provide adequately trained resources to implement standard
programs / projects.
3. Optimize and perform standard maintenance actions on all field
equipment to ensure startup and operational reliability. (Field Service
Manager only)
4. Define field equipment, maintenance equipment and facilities
investments required to adequately support program / project needs and
ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Provide integrated material and service procurement plan across
all programs / projects; implement cost efficiencies through effective
sourcing and logistics practices.
6. Manage equipment maintenance and facilities budgets. (Field
Service Manager only)
7. Assure safety, health and regulatory compliance at Westinghouse
sites.
8. Implement integrated planning and logistics program to support
all programs / projects.
9. Assure timely and cost-effective implementation of equipment and
people transportation. (Field Service Manager only)
10. Implement improvements to training and maintenance practices to
increase efficiencies and reduce costs for these activities.
11. Implement business relationships with labor subcontract firms to
adequately support field season peaks, while assuring high resource
quality at competitive costs. (Field Service Manager only)
12. Implement personnel performance improvement and skills
development process to assure Westinghouse competitiveness. Assure a
fair and competitive pay structure for full time and casual workforce.
13. Implement personnel Nuclear Plant Access Programs to assure
compliance with nuclear plant customer requirements. (Field Service
Manager only)
I. KNOWLEDGE
a. Describe the knowledge required to perform the major
responsibilities.
Solid working knowledge of nuclear services and broad understanding of
business and strategic thrusts. Understand business and financial
management processes including balance sheet and cash flow management.
Must have high degree of process orientation and experience in applying
process improvement to work flow optimization. Must have
planning/logistic and project management experience; be familiar with
facilities operational needs and regulatory issues.
b. Identify specialized education and/or experience requirements.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related technical
discipline. Typically, ten to fifteen years of related experience in
field or engineering environment.
c. Describe any licenses and/or certificates required.
