This position is dedicated for the Surgical Stepdown Unit at Palmetto Health Richland. 50% of this role is dedicated to acute patient care as a staff nurse in SSU.

Summary:
Responsible for assisting program development, performance management, knowledge management, and practice management within their respective departments and collaboratively with other PH employees. In addition, this job also demonstrates experience and expertise in a specific area of clinical nursing and implements the role based on the needs of the patient, the nursing staff and the health care delivery system. Works collaboratively with education and nursing leadership for to improve the delivery of patient care through the education function.

Responsibilities:
Program Development: Oversees program development function which includes assessment, research, training design, training delivery and evaluation of orientation, training, continuing education as well as customized solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness while supporting continuous learning, inquiry and dialogue, collaborative and team learning. 60%
Performance Management:Facilitates individual, team, and organizational performance management which include competency development and evaluation, change management processes, work and accountability processes, performance consultation and mentoring staff, and development of job/performance aids. 20%
Knowledge Management:Facilitates knowledge management function to develop employee's ability to learn, adapt, and change swiftly as new technology emerges and clinical practice evolves. Services include developing systems to capture and share learning quickly and efficiently throughout the organization as a subject matter expert. This includes driving policy and procedure changes, developing learning resources and implementing learning transfer strategies. 10%
Clinical Practice:Provides services to improve the delivery of patient care which includes facilitating quality and patient safety initiatives, participating in shared leadership, establishing standards of care and documentation standards and providing direct patient care. 10%
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience; prior education experience preferred
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina; BLS or BCLS required; may require ACLS certification or other specialty education/training depending on clinical area of assignment
Special Training: Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to treat patients of all ages; must have a strong clinical knowledge base and possess the ability to teach and incorporate adult learning principles

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
