Job Description:
Under the direction of department management personnel, coordinates, implements and supervises all food service operations.
All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Palmetto Health's values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
May direct and supervise one or all of the following areas: production, cafeteria, tray line, sanitation, and catering staff. Oversees food service areas in absence of Food Services Manager or department director.
Creates effective work schedules for assigned employees; maintains accurate and timely documentation on supervised personnel.
Enforces departmental policies and procedures at all times to include HACCP and DHEC guidelines and regulations.
Responsible for following and enforcing all departmental cash handling policies and procedures.
Responsible for reporting and coordination of the maintenance of food service equipment.
Ensures compliance with department safety and security policies and procedures and performs all assignments, tasks and duties in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety rules of the department.
Responsible for assisting in entering appropriate information into computer for proper food ordering and reporting.
Augments staff vacancies as needed; performs other duties as assigned as needed for the efficient operation of the department.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: 3-5 years in supervisory position preferred
Number and type of employees supervised: Varies; manages a variety of food service personnel
Licensure, registry or certification required: Certified Dietary Manager Certification preferred
Special training: Basic keyboarding skills required; basic math skills required; ability to read and write English required; supervisor skills and customer service skills training preferred
