Position Description:
CGI is seeking a DBA with 4
years of Oracle DBA experience and either Sybase or SQL Server experience to provide development and support services to a large financial institution. As a DBA, you will work closely with other DBA team members, application developers, business users, infrastructure support teams and upper management to provide Oracle expertise as well as Sybase or SQL Server expertise for new projects and production support for existing applications.
This position requires candidates to have experience working in a UNIX environment, including creating and executing shell scripts. Candidate must have a solid understanding of database fundamentals and be able to learn quickly, and thrive in a fast paced environment.

To be effective in this role, the DBA must stay abreast of state-of-the-art technologies in database technology and data management practices, and must be able to influence and educate project teams on the importance of good data management practices.
Minimum education required is a B.S. in Computer Science or a related degree.
Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Design and create database schema scripts (DDL), deploy schema build scripts, maintain database baselines, support application requirements, testing and implementations. Must follow all migration policies and processes.
Analyze and resolve, or recommend solutions to highly complex technical problems such as performance issues, integration of object-oriented relational database technology, and data quality issues
Provide 24 X 7 support on a periodic basis (requires carrying pager).
Lead or participate in modeling initiatives (object, logical), data analysis and application of corporate standards.
Create sound database physical design models from object or logical models.
Prepare status reports to accurately communicate progress; provide early notification of problems that could affect schedules, or the integrity or availability of data.
Required
Qualifications:
4
years of PL/SQL development; ability to analyze and provide recommendation for performance tuning.
4
years of Oracle DBA experience including building objects and maintaining production environments.
2
years experience with either Sybase or SQL Server database administration.
Strong Performance and Tuning, troubleshooting skills. Proficient with OEM/SQL Advisor/ADDM and AWR
4
years of experience in Relational database concepts, relational logical modeling, best practices, and physical design.
4
years of experience in Object concepts, object modeling, and translation of object model to relational design.
3
years of Unix operating system experience including shell scripting and file management.
3
years of using modeling tool, preferable ER/Studio
4
years of experience in the IT industry, including full life cycle methodology, standard office products such as Word and Excel, and some application development.
B.S. in Computer Science or related degree.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Familiarity or experience with java and related technologies.
Oracle certifications preferred
Sybase or SQL Server certifications preferred
Ability to adapt to changing environment and requirements and manage multiple tasks
Good project management, oral and written communication, negotiation, presentation and influencing skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
