## Minimum Requirements

Professional registration or certification

## Job Description
The Environmental department of URS I&E; is seeking a highly talented Geohydrologist for immediate employment in their Columbia, SC office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in applying hydrogeological knowledge to water resource and quality problems, such as groundwater/surface water supply and contamination. Successful candidate will be actively engaged with projects involving assessment, investigation, and remediation of environmental contaminants for commercial, industrial, and governmental clients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform as a staff advisor and consultant
Maintain liaison with individuals and units within and outside organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to field of expertise
Undertake non-routine, complex projects
Perform Independent Technical Reviews for reports in their field of expertise
Provide advice and consultation to client on hydrogeological matters, including compliance with federal/state laws and regs
Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments and managing projects
Serve as a technical specialist for the office in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles or processes
Work on technical and unique projects
Apply specialized knowledge and share expertise with colleagues
Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the scientific work in a large/complex scope project
Regularly develop and evaluate project plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others
Plan and develop segments of projects with unique or controversial problems
Review contract bidding and administration
Routinely engage clients in negotiating project scope and budget, and assessing IE project team performance
Identify potential clients & work
Secure and manage clients and contracts
Assist Business Line Managers in the development of new business
Lead technical proposals
Train and evaluate junior-level staff; mentors and manages staff on projects
