THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
Responsible for Performing, Coordinating and/or facilitating Problem solving, Quality Planning, the application of standardized Quality Tools, Quality Technician support of Hold Point Inspection as well as First Article Coordination and Support. Reports to the Director of Quality Assurance.

Quality Plans - Develops and Maintains Quality plans for Hold Point Inspection and Receiving Inspection.
Prints - Capable of interpreting Prints and basic GD&T callouts as well as performing basic open setups and supporting the Quality Techs during Manufacturing Part Inspections.
AIE - Supports the Metrology Group in the development of the AIE and associated packaging of the information for submittal to the customer.
SPC - Minimal: Basic understanding of the SPC concept, charts, and systems.
Preferred: Develop SPC systems for the area. Perform SPC Training for the Manufacturing Personnel. Analyze and use the SPC data for Manufacturing

GD&T - GD&T Level II capable. Conducts as necessary, Basic GD&T Training.
Problem Solving - Lead complex Problem solving activities.
4 Panel Process - Drive the 4 Panel Process - Capture supporting data, compile in the 4 panel charting, coordinate associated meetings, assure assignments and track resulting implementations and improvements via the 4 panel charts (primary targets are Scrap and Rework).
Q-Tech Reports - Manage Quality Technicians assigned to the area.
Contract Requirements - Review and assure compliance to all Contractual requirements including Product Quality, Process Quality, Assembly and Test, and Special Process specifications and requirements.
Customer Interface - Manage Customer Visits and technical reviews associated with the QE areas of responsibilities.
Customer Complaints - Receive Customer Issued Complaints (PQDR,) and Develop and obtain approval for the response.
Quality Planning - Develop and coordinate all Quality Planning and assure all associated tasks are completed and implemented in the required timeframe (OCS, Gauging, AIE, FA, Testing,.).
Supplier Quality Support - Support and/or lead as appropriate (in conjunction with the SQE's), resolution to Supplier related quality issues to include but not limited to interfacing with RI, PC, PE, Customer PQDR,.
Conducts and/or facilitates internal Audits and associated Continuous improvements to improve the overall systems.
Utilizes basic quality tools along with six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventative actions.
Engages in activities that create a continuous improvement environment, sustains Lean processes, suggests areas of improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and safety, and actively supports Lean, 5S and Value Stream Management initiatives.
Participate in, and successfully complete the advanced Lean Manufacturing class.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

BSME or related field
Five (5) years experience in precision manufacturing, at least 3 years in a quality engineer position
Black Belt Certification
Lean Manufacturing certification/ formal training preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD, Pro-E or equivalent
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Experienced in Continuous Improvement activities to include Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
Able to perform all quality-related duties to support manufacturing to include Print Review, Quality Assurance Plans, First Articles, Capability Studies, Data Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Preventive and Corrective Action Analysis

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
