The company's 130,000 employees are committed to help individuals and organizations Make the most of their energy.The primary responsibility of this position at the Columbia SC Plant is to serve as a contact for Sales Representatives, Field Service Technicians, and end use customers needing technical assistance with the QED6 and PZ4 product lines. This includes assisting field sales with layout, order entry, specification interpretation, order review, and coordination with other product lines. This also includes assisting field services with repairs, installation, start-up, and warranty resolution.
Responsibilities will include:
Layout and configuration of switchgear.
Design of control schemes, utilizing PLCs and/or relays, to accomplish automated transfer
operations.
Design of ground fault protective schemes, including those involving multiple sources.
Generation of bills of material, and modification of standard assemblies as required suiting
the application.
Familiarity with Modbus and TCP/IP communications protocols, and RS-485 and Ethernet
interfaces.
Interpreting customer specification requirements
Interaction with corporate customers, field sales and marketing personnel and plant mfg
associates
Minimal travel may be required.
Required Competencies:
oBSEE degree, BSME degree, or commensurate experience.
oExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
oExcellent interpersonal and customer relation skills.
oExcellent problem resolution skills.
oKnowledge of low voltage switchboard / switchgear design, installation, and use.
oKnowledge of local, state, and federal codes governing the installation and use of low voltage switchboards/switchgear.
oAbility to interpret basic front elevation, one-line, and schematic drawings.
Preferred Competencies:
oAbility to program and troubleshoot PLCs (auto-throwover schemes).
oExperience using AutoCAD.
oFamiliarity with ANSI Relays and relay auto-throwover schemes.
oExperience with Modbus communications, utility metering, and circuit monitoring applications.
oExperience working with field sales, consulting engineers, distributors, and installation contractors.
oExcellent ability to troubleshoot electrical control, ground fault, and zone interlocking schemes.
oExperience working in an manufacturing environment
A BSEE is preferred, along with 3 to 6 years of experience in the manufacture or design of electrical distribution equipment and technical assistance. Inter-personal skills are also essential in order to maintain the strong team atmosphere that currently exists within our group.
