Legal Secretary/Receptionist

A busy growing personal injury law firm seeks a legal secretary/receptionist to support their growing Columbia area law office.
DAY TO DAY
Responsibilities:
Assist firm Attorneys and Paralegals as requested.
Responsibilities:
o Schedule attorney & paralegal appointments using Microsoft Outlook.
o Keep lobby, desk, office, conference rooms & kitchen area clean and presentable.
o Greet CLIENTS, visitors, make appointments, take all calls, process mail, emails and faxes.
o Prepare correspondence, memos and agreements.
o Handle executive's personal schedules, accounts, and appointments. May include errands by request.
o MUST ANSWER phones professionally with a smile.
o Type 55
wpm.

Qualifications:
o MUST have 2
years law firm experience
o Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
o Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, organizational, and verbal communication skills
o Multi-tasking is a MUST.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office programs required (Excel, Word, Outlook)
o Proficient in Adobe design programs (InDesign, PDF, Photoshop)
o Ability to work independently.
o Experience with proofing/editing/preparing documents & agreements.
o Ability to develop solutions which work within departmental policies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
