Job Description: Environmental Professional for the Air Force at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide management support, planning, programming, program execution monitoring, and execution proposal review for expeditionary bases and operational sites throughout the Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) Area of Responsibility (AOR). Candidate shall also assist in the development of environmental policy, provide environmental guidance to forward locations, and coordinate reporting activities between installations and environmental authorities.
The Candidate shall provide: Coordination of contingency base development plans; preparation of Air Force Programming Documents for AF approval in support of contingency operations; Environmental Program Development and Implementation/Management, coordination of Emergency Response and Removal Actions; support for Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation surveys; preparation of various staff packages to include Staff Summary Sheet with applicable attachment, items of interest, official memos, Bullet Background Papers, PowerPoint Briefings, etc.; preparation of project data base records in ACES to include creation of records, inputting programming documents and maintaining project information including status of projects; develop draft program management documents for staffing review, and project proposal documents; provide records of decision documents and decision documents.
The Candidate shall assist the Air Force to obtain environmental and construction permits, applications, and compliance standards. The Candidate may also support the Air Force in negotiations with federal, state, and local permitting authorities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: There is one mid-level position available. Requirements are as follows:
Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related environmental field.
Four (4) years experience in DoD environmental program management, experience in plan writing, engineering plan review, and policy development.
Experience in implementation of Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD) guidance.
Have practical knowledge of Environmental Science, DoD & USAF environmental policies, including Environmental, Safety, Occupational Health, Compliance Assesment and Management Program (ESOCAMP); documentation and approval processes; construction and project delivery tracking; word processing and database management; excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of or experience with USAF concept plan (CONPLAN) and operational plan (OPLAN) process; combatant command/supporting command roles and missions and inputs is desirable.
Candidates must be proficient in the following Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and SharePoint.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
