TranSystems' Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina offices have an opportunity for an Engineer 1 to join our Roadway Practice. This Engineer 1 will be a member of our roadway group and will assist in various tasks including plan preparation, quantity calculation, geometric design, drainage design, MOT, specifications, cost estimates and other related tasks. Microstation, Geopak, and MS Office and other design software will be used, and all work will be in collaboration with other engineers, technicians, planners, and surveyors. Candidates with a background in preliminary engineering or development of detailed plans and specification are preferred; and must possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
Basic
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
- Experience with MicroStation/GEOPAK; Open Roads Design experience is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
- Familiarity with SCDOT plan preparation requirements for roadway projects. Experience with SC Municipalities or other LPA roadway projects preferred.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of design experience
- EIT certification
- Experience within the transportation industry

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
